cluster-bringup-modify

This feature provides configurable parameters for controlling the activation of VLAG ports in a cluster to ensure sub-second failover. Sub-second traffic loss is required for failover events in a cluster configuration with active-active VLAGs. Netvisor can wait a measurable time to move L2 entries from one port to another during failover and failover recovery port up and down events. This contributes to traffic loss during these events. To ensure traffic loss events remains sub-second, it is required to manage the activation of VLAG ports on the node recovering from the failover.

Syntax   cluster-bringup-modify l3-port-bringup-mode staggered|simultaneous l3-port-staggered-interval duration: #d#h#m#s vlag-port-bringup-mode staggered|simultaneous vlag-port-staggered-interval duration: #d#h#m#s maximum-sync-delay duration: #d#h#m#s l3-to-vlag-delay duration: #d#h#m#s

l3-port-bringup-mod staggered|simultaneous

Specify the bring up mode as staggered or simultaneous.

l3-port-staggered-interval duration: #d#h#m#s

Specify the staggered bring up interval.

vlag-port-bringup-mode staggered|simultaneous

Specify the VLAG port bring up mode during start up.

vlag-port-staggered-interval duration: #d#h#m#s

Specify the interval between VLAG ports in VLAG staggered mode.

This can be in days, hours, minutes, or seconds.

maximum-sync-delay duration: #d#h#m#s

Specify the maximum delay to wait for cluster to synchronize before starting Layer 3 or VLAG port bring up.

This can be in days, hours, minutes, or seconds.

l3-to-vlag-delay duration: #d#h#m#s

Specify the delay between the last Layer 3 port and the first VLAG port bring up.

This can be in days, hours, minutes, or seconds. The default value is 15 seconds.

l3-to-vlan-interface-delay duration: #d#h#m#s

Specify the delay between the last Layer 3 port and vRouter VLAN interface bring up.

Defaults   None

Access   CLI

History

Version 2.5

Command introduced.

Version 2.5.4

Command renamed to cluster-bringup-modify.

Version 2.6.2

The parameter, l3-to-vlan-interface-delay duration, added.

Usage   Use this command to manage how VLAGs are activated in a cluster configuration.

Examples  To configure VLAG bring up as staggered with an interval of 3 seconds, use the following syntax:

CLI network-admin@switch > cluster-bringup-modify mode staggered staggered-interval 3 seconds
