Security/Monitoring Log Events


Log Events


Selecting Overview → Manage → Security/Monitoring → Log Events displays the Syslogs Matches dashboard.


Select the desired Fabric from the left side navigation bar and the dashboard updates showing all Log Event entries from all switches within the Fabric.


The dashboard displays a list of existing Log Event entries by Switch name.


Additional parameters include: system, port, tcp, stp, igmp, lldp, lacp, storage and vport.


You sort the list of entries in the dashboard using the up / down arrows above each of the columns to sort the information as needed.

Select the desired switch from the Fabric and the dashboard updates automatically with Log Events entries.


The dashboard displays a list of existing Log Event entries by system. Additional parameters include: port, tcp, stp, igmp, lldp, lacp, storage and vport.


You sort the list of entries in the dashboard using the up / down arrows above each of the columns to sort the information as needed.

To obtain detailed information about a Log Events select an entry in the dashboard.


A Details pane opens displaying the configuration information of the Log Events.


Scroll through the list, as needed, and click X to return to the dashboard.

Modify Log Events


To modify a Log Event entry use Edit by selecting the Cog icon to make changes to the Log Event configuration which include:


  • system – system on or off
  • port – port on or off
  • tcp – TCP events on or off
  • stp – STP events on or off
  • igmp – IGMP events on or off
  • lldp – LLDP events on or off
  • lacp – LACP events on or off
  • storage – storage events on or off
  • vport – vport events on or off

Click Save to continue or Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving any changes.


Additional field parameters are modified by clicking on the icon for Additional Fields. Additional fields include:

  • vdp – VDP events on or off
  • ecp – ECP events on or off
  • evb – EVB events on or off
  • ptp – PTP events on or off
  • openflow – OpenFlow events on or off
  • tacacs – TACACS+ events on or off
  • openstack – OpenStack events on or off
  • mld – MLD events on or off
  • mroute – MROUTE events on or off
  • lacp-port-event – LACP ports events on or off
