Layer 2 Configuration - VLAN

Manage VLAN

Selecting Overview → Manage → Layer 2 → Manage VLAN displays the Manage VLAN dashboard with a list of any existing VLAN entries.

Select the desired Fabric from the left side navigation bar and the dashboard updates showing all VLANs from all switches within the Fabric.

The dashboard displays a list of existing VLANs entries by Switch. Additional parameters include: id, scope, description, ports, Untagged Ports, Active Ports, vxlan and vxlan-mode.

You sort the list of entries in the dashboard using the up / down arrows above each of the columns to sort the information as needed.


Manage VLANs Fabric Dashboard


Selecting an individual Switch from the fabric updates the dashboard with only the VLAN settings for that switch.


The dashboard displays a list of existing VLAN entries. Parameters include: id, scope, description, ports, Untagged Ports, Active Ports, vxlan and vxlan-mode.


VLANs are created by selecting Create VLANS By Range. Existing VLANs are deleted using Delete VLANS By Range.

Settings are changed by selecting Edit (see Modify a VLAN) using the Cog icon and a VLAN is deleted by clicking on Delete.

A confirmation message requires an acknowledgment to continue deletion.

Click OK to continue or Cancel to return to the previous screen without making any changes.

To obtain detailed information about a VLAN click on an entry in the dashboard.

A Details pane opens displaying the configuration information about the VLAN.

Click X to close the viewing pane.

Scroll through the information in the details pane and click X to return to the full dashboard.

Create VLANs By Range

Manage Create VLANS by Range

Enter the parameter settings for:

  • Scope – scope as local or fabric
  • Description – VLAN description
  • Ports – Ports assigned to VLAN
  • Untagged-ports – Untagged-ports assigned to VLAN
  • Range – Range of VLAN IDs


Check the Stats – VLAN statistics box to receive VLAN statistical information.

Additional fields are configured by clicking on the icon for Additional Fields. Enter the parameter settings for:

  • VNET-ID – VNET for this VLAN
  • VXLAN – VXLAN mapped to VLAN for tunnel
  • VXLAN-Mode – VXLAN encapsulation mode
  • Replicators – Name of Replicator Group
  • Public-VLAN – Public VLAN for VNET VLAN

Click Save to continue or Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving any changes.

Note: The Edit icon referred to in this section is represented by the pencil icon .


Modify a VLAN

To modify a VLAN click Edit by selecting the Cog icon to make changes to the VLAN description.

Additional fields are configured by clicking on the icon for Additional Fields.

Enter the desired parameter setting changes for VXLAN using the Up/Down Arrow icon and Public-VLAN.

Click Save to continue or Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving any changes.

Delete VLANS By Range

Existing VLANs are deleted using Delete VLANS By Range. Enter the required parameter settings for:

  • Range – Range of VLAN IDs
  • VNET-ID (from the drop-down box) – VNET for this VLAN


Click Delete to continue or Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving any changes.
