Packet Analytics Main Dashboard:

The operation of the dashboard is the same across all tabs and is not described separately in this document.

However, unique charts, pie charts and logs are described elsewhere in the documentation.

Search and Filtering functions work in an identical manner as described under the Common Features - Search & Filtering section.

The Main tab displays the following information:

  • Packet by Protocol over Time – displays protocol types such as TCP, PGSQL, FTP, STP, TLS, etc., over time.
  • Top 10 Protocols – Pie chart display of top 10 protocols.
  • Top 10 Destination Port/App – Pie chart display of top 10 protocols destinations by port number.
  • Top 10 Destination City – Pie chart display of top 10 hosts destination city locations.
  • Top 10 Source City – Pie chart display of top 10 hosts source city locations.
  • Top 10 Destination Host – Pie chart display of destination host addresses.
  • Top 10 Source Host – Pie chart display of source host addresses.

Each individual tile contains a pie chart with a color legend that labels each slice of information with a specific color.

When you place your cursor over a name in the legend, the corresponding slice is highlighted in the pie chart.

Clicking on a pie slice, applies a global filter to the entire Dashboard.

As an example, filtering based on an application by clicking on the application slice, automatically pivots the entire dashboard around that application and the Top Clients, Top Server, etc., are now related to the filtered application.

Moving your cursor over other color bars and the associated protocol with provide specific data related to the collected packet sample.

Filters are automatically created, and you are prompted to Apply or Cancel the filter.

As mentioned above moving your cursor over other color bars and the associated protocol with provide specific data related to the collected packet sample. A filter is automatically created which can then be applied clicking on Apply Now.

Insight Analytics Packet Pie Chart Rollover

Moving your cursor over the pie charts in the Insight Analytics Packet dashboard reveals specific data associated with the selected protocol related to the collected packet sample.

You move the cursor over any part of the color pie chart to obtain specific information about the collected protocol sample.
