Layer 2 Configuration – Trunks

Trunks

Selecting Overview → Manage → Layer 2 → Trunks displays the Trunks dashboard with a list of any existing Trunk entries.

Select the desired Fabric from the left side navigation bar and the dashboard updates showing all Trunks from all switches within the Fabric.


Note: If no entries exist a "No Data Exists" message is displayed. You must first configure an entry on a switch. Prerequisite settings and configuration may be required.



The dashboard displays a list of existing Trunk entries by Switch. Additional parameters include: trunk-id, name, ports,speed, enable, lacp-mode, lacp-timeout, lacp-fallback, LACP FB Timeout, edge-switch, vxlan Termination, status, config and host-enable.

You sort the list of entries in the dashboard using the up / down  arrows above each of the columns to sort the information as needed.


Manage LACP Trunks Fabric Dashboard


Select the desired switch from the fabric and the dashboard updates automatically with Trunk settings.

The dashboard displays a list of existing Trunk entries. Parameters include: switch, trunk-id, name, ports,speed, enable, lacp-mode, lacp-timeout, lacp-fallback, LACP FB Timeout, edge-switch, vxlan Termination, status, config and host-enable.


Trunks are created by selecting Create a Trunk Configuration for Link Aggregation.


You modify an entry (described below) using Edit by selecting the Cog  icon.

You sort the list of entries in the dashboard using the up / down  arrows above each of the columns to sort the information as needed.

An entry is deleted by using Delete. A confirmation message requires an acknowledgment to continue deletion.

Click OK to continue or Cancel to return to the previous screen without making any changes.

To obtain detailed information about a trunk ID click on an entry in the dashboard.

A Details pane opens displaying the configuration information about the trunk.

Scroll through the information in the details pane and click X to return to the full dashboard.

Manage LACP Create Trunk


Click Save to continue or Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving any changes.

Enter the parameter settings for:

  • Name – Physical name
  • Ports – Physical port
  • lacp-mode – LACP mode of physical port
  • lacp-priority – LACP priority from 1 to 65535 – default is 32768
  • lacp-timeout – LACP timeout – default is Slow
  • lacp-fallback  – LACP failback mode – individual or bundled
  • lacp-fallback-timeout – LACP failback timeout – default is 50 seconds


Click the Edit icon to display and select a range of ports.

Click the desired ports and click Apply to continue or Cancel to return to the previous screen without applying any changes.

Additional fields are configured by clicking on the  icon for Additional Fields. Enter the parameter settings for:

  • Speed – Physical port speed
  • Autoneg – Physical port auto-negotiation
  • Jumbo – Jumbo frames on physical port
  • Reflect – Physical port reflection
  • Description – Physical port description
  • Loopback – Physical port loopback
  • Bw-bps – Trunk bandwidth in bps
  • Egress-rate-limit – Maximum egress port data rate limit
  • VXLAN-termination – Physical port VXLAN termination setting
  • unknown-ucast-level –  unknown unicast level in % default 30%
  • unknown-mcast-level – unknown multicast level in % default 30%
  • broadcast level – broadcast level in % - default 30%
  • port-mac-address – Physical port MAC address
  • Loop-VLANS – Looping VLANS
  • dscp-map – DSCP map name to enable on port
  • local-switching – no-local-switching port cannot bridge traffic to another no-local-switching port
  • allow-tpid –  Allowed TPID in addition to 0x8100 on VLAN header


Selection fields include:

  • Pause – physical port pause
  • Routing – Routing
  • Edge Switch – Physical port edge switch
  • Host-enable – Host facing port control setting
  • Fabric-guard – Fabric guard configuration

Click Save to configure the Trunk or Cancel to return to the previous screen without adding a new Trunk.

Modify a Trunk

To modify a Trunk, click on Edit by selecting the Cog  icon to make changes to the Trunk parameters and enter the parameter settings for:

  • Name – Physical name
  • Ports – Physical port
  • lacp-mode – LACP mode of physical port
  • lacp-priority – LACP priority from 1 to 65535 – default is 32768
  • lacp-timeout – LACP timeout – default is Slow
  • lacp-fallback  – LACP failback mode – individual or bundled
  • lacp-fallback-timeout – LACP failback timeout – default is 50 seconds
