Layer 3 Configuration – VTEP

Manage VTEP

Selecting Manager → Layer 3 → Manage VTEP displays the Manage VTEP dashboard with a list of any existing VTEP settings.

UNUM provides access to specific feature help documentation via the Help Button  icon.


Select the desired Fabric from the left side navigation bar and the dashboard updates showing all VTEP entries from all switches within the Fabric.


Note: If no entries exist a "No Data Exists" message is displayed. You must first configure an entry on a switch. Prerequisite settings and configuration may be required.



The dashboard displays a list of existing VTEP entries by name. Additional parameters include: ip, vrouter-name, location and virtual-ip.


You sort the list of entries in the dashboard using the up / down  arrows above each of the columns to sort the information as needed.

Select the desired switch from the fabric and the dashboard updates automatically with VTEP settings.


The dashboard displays a list of existing VTEP entries by switch name. Additional parameters include: ip, vrouter-name, location and virtual-ip.


You sort the list of entries in the dashboard using the up / down  arrows above each of the columns to sort the information as needed.


To obtain detailed information about a VTEP  select an entry in the dashboard.


A Details pane opens displaying the configuration information of the VTEP.


Scroll through the list, as needed, and click X to return to the dashboard.

VTEPs are added by selecting Create a vtep.

Click OK to continue or Cancel to return to the previous screen without making any changes.


VTEPs are added by selecting Create a VTEP.


To add a VTEP click Create a VTEP and enter the configuration parameters which include:


  • name – VTEP name
  • ip – Primary IP address
  • vrouter-name – name of the vrouter service
  • location – switch name

Click Save to continue or Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving any changes.


Additional field parameters are modified by clicking on the  icon for Additional Fields.

Additional fields include:


  • virtual-ip –Virtual/Secondary IP address

In the following example a new VTEP named Tech_Pubs was added to the VTEP Dashboard.

To delete a VTEP entry use Delete by selecting the Cog  icon. A confirmation message requires an acknowledgment to continue deletion.
