Layer 1 (L1) Troubleshooting
Assuming the minimal configuration settings are correct, and the major components of the switch are functioning correctly, then proceed to the next steps in troubleshooting. Verify the underlying physical ports, transceivers, and cables are functioning correctly before validating other configuration settings. Nothing will work if the underlying hardware is not working.
CLI Usage Note
To execute command on a local switch only, use the command: switch-local. The display of an asterisk * denotes commands will run on the local switch. To revert to displaying information from all switches use the command: switch.
In some cases, a command's horizontal output may be wide and wrap inside the terminal CLI session. To display the information in a vertical format use the format command layout vertical. To revert, omit the format command.
UNUM: Use the Manager Layer 1 Dashboards to review and manage Layer 1 functionality.
Port Status
Confirm the ports are functioning properly with the command: port-show

Validate supported transceivers with the command: port-xcvr-show
Note: While the tech-support command captures local scope, some transceivers support receive/transmit power readings while others do not. Pluribus Networks recommends as a best practice to use transceivers that support power readings.
