Changing Switch Setup Parameters


You can modify the following switch parameters by using the switch-setup-modify command:

  • Switch name
  • Management IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
  • Management IPv4 and IPv6 netmasks
  • Management IPv4 and IPv6 address assignments
  • In-band IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
  • In-band IPv4 and IPv6 netmasks
  • Gateway IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
  • Loopback IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
  • Primary and secondary IPv4 addresses for DNS services
  • Domain name
  • NTP server and NTP secondary server
  • Timezone
  • End User License Agreement (EULA) acceptance and timestamp
  • Password
  • Date
  • Enable or disable host ports
  • Message of the Day (MOTD)
  • Banner
  • Management interface LAG: enable or disable
  • LACP mode of the management interface
  • NTP enable or disable
  • IEEE 802.1X authentication of the management interface (when not part of a LAG)

For example if you want to change the date and time on the switch, use the command:

To view the changed date (see bold in output), use the show command:
