License


Selecting Menu Bar → License displays the License dashboard. The License tab highlights.


There are features and functions used in UNUM Manager and UNUM Analytics that are common throughout the user interface (UI). Please refer to the Common Functions section for more information on the use of these functions and features.


The UNUM Configuration License module provides a convenient method of installing and managing UNUM licenses. 


Select the License tab to review, install and activate licenses. 


UNUM Platform Configuration License Status & Installed Licenses


There are two methods to install licenses, UNUM Not Connected to Internet or UNUM Connected to Internet


There are generally two steps, first Activate the license and then Install the license key.


UNUM Not Connected to Internet


General Process


1)Log into Customer Portal from a machine connected to the Internet. 

Use your provided support credentials. If you do not have credentials for the Customer Portal, please Contact Support

You may be prompted to re-enter your login credentials. Once you are logged in, click on the Licensing Tab.

2)Go to Activations (see figures below).

3)Using the Install License Key button locate the Machine ID (see figure below) from UNUM dashboard.

4)Copy the UNUM Machine ID and enter that into the Customer Support Portal Licensing Dashboard and click Activate (see figures below).

5)Once activated, click the Machine ID and your license will be displayed.

6)Copy the license key from the Licensing Dashboard and paste it into UNUM.

Pluribus Networks Customer Portal


Upon successfully logging in you are greeted by a welcome screen. Click on the Licensing Tab.

You may be prompted to re-enter your login credentials. Enter your login credentials.

You may see the Welcome to PN Cloud screen. Review the Activate Options and Download Software information.


You have the option to select "Don't show me this again".

Click Got it! to continue and click on the Licensing Tab. Select Activations.


Activation Keys are displayed for your activated devices. 


Select and enter license and click on the Activate button. You can Deactivate devices using the same interface.

Click on a UNUM License row in the dashboard. A list of activated Machine ID numbers displays with Status, License Key information and Deactivate.


Enter your UNUM Machine ID number and click Activate.

Enter the Machine ID and click Activate.

The latest UNUM activation appears in the dashboard.

After activation, click on License Key to obtain your License Keys.

Use the Copy to Clipboard feature to conveniently save the License Key. Click Close to continue.


Note: License Enforcement – Once the license limit is reached you see an alert on the dashboard. No further Flow data is stored. UNUM Insight Analytics Flow is not available as an application if there is no Analytics license installed.


Login to your UNUM instance. Go to Menu Bar → License and select Install License Key.


Paste or Enter the License Key and click Install to continue. Click Cancel to return to the previous screen.

Your UNUM instance is now licensed and activated.


Deactivate License


Login to the Pluribus Network Cloud (PNC) and find the license for the failed UNUM instance.


Please review the detailed instructions about logging in to the PNC. 


If you previously recorded your UNUM Machine ID, locate the Machine ID in the license list and deactivate the associated license.

Select the license to be deactivated and click Deactivate and Close.

The license is deactivated.


UNUM Connected to Internet


1)Connect to the Pluribus Network Cloud (PNC) by clicking on PN Cloud and entering your PNC credentials.

2)Any license purchases will be downloaded and available in UNUM.

3)Activate and install the license SKU.



Activated Licenses


Once activated, active licenses are displayed in the dashboard.

Inactivated Licenses


Available and inactivated license are displayed in the dashboard as shown in the license tab figures above installed licenses are displayed from the top of the dashboard. 


Inactivated licenses are displayed by scrolling down through the dashboard. 


To activate and install licenses click Activate & Install.

Expiring Licenses


Expiring licenses are displayed in the dashboard along with their relevant data. Remove these from the dashboard using the Trash Bin icon as required.

Expired License


Expired licenses are displayed in the dashboard along with their relevant data and are removed from the dashboard using using the Trash Bin icon as required.

Warning: License expiring warnings start ten (10) days before the expiry date. A grace period of five (5) days begins on the expiry date and after the initial ten-day warning.


Filtering Function


Entering specific license filtering criteria updates the license dashboard with only those licenses matching the search values as shown in the example below:

License Notifications


UNUM displays the following license status results after a Topology discovery process.


Valid License

No notifications triggered.

Expired License

Notification is displayed in Alarm Bell with switch and license details. Appears in the All Notifications dashboard.

License in Grace Period

Notification is displayed in the Alarm Bell with periodic messages. Appears in the All Notifications dashboard.

Expired Seed Switch License

Communication failure is displayed in the Alarm Bell. Appears in the All Notifications dashboard.


Warning: A license grace period occurs ten days before expiry and five days after.
