Layer 3 Configuration – Static Routing


Manage Static Routing


Selecting Overview → Manage → Layer 3 → Manage Routing displays the Manage Routing dashboard with a list of any existing Routing settings.


Select the desired Fabric from the left side navigation bar and the dashboard updates showing all Routing entries from all switches within the Fabric.


The dashboard displays a list of existing Routing entries by Switch and selected  vRouter. Additional parameters include: network, netmask, gateway-ip and distance.


You sort the list of entries in the dashboard using the up / down arrows above each of the columns to sort the information as needed.

To delete a Static Route entry use Delete by selecting the Cog icon. A confirmation message requires an acknowledgment to continue deletion.

Click OK to continue or Cancel to return to the previous screen without making any changes.


Select the desired switch from the fabric and the dashboard updates automatically with Routing settings.


The dashboard displays a list of existing Routing entries by network. Additional parameters include: netmask, gateway-ip and distance.


You sort the list of entries in the dashboard using the up / down arrows above each of the columns to sort the information as needed.


Static Routes added by selecting Add a static route to a vRouter.

Static Routes added by selecting Add a static route to a vRouter.


To add a Static Route select the desired vRouter from the drop-down list of available vRouters.


The dashboard updates displaying the configuration of the selected vRouter.

You select the ---ALL--- parameter to display all vRouters. This option exists for both Fabric and individual switches.

Click Add a static route to a vRouter and enter the configuration parameters which include:


  • network – IP address
  • netmask – netmask
  • gateway-ip – gateway IP address
  • distance – value assigned to route from 1 to 255

Click Save to continue or Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving any changes.

Additional field parameters are modified by clicking on the icon for Additional Fields.

Additional fields include:


  • interface – interface name
  • bfd-dst-ip – destination IP address for bfd monitoring

To obtain detailed information about a Static Route click an entry in the dashboard.


A Details pane opens displaying the configuration information of the Route.


Scroll through the list, as needed, and click X to return to the dashboard.
